Qualifications &Experience:
- DESE license required for Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist/Teacher
- Strong understanding of strategies and accommodations for K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Experience in educational settings supporting diverse learners
- Ability to collaborate with fellow educators, families, and specialists
- Proficiency in sign language is preferred
- Provide direct instructional support and consultation to students identified as Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Partner with general education teachers to adapt lesson materials and ensure accessibility
- Monitor student progress and adjust supports as needed, confirming and managing caseload throughout the school year
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and participate in team meetings
- Serve as an advocate for students, promoting inclusion and effective communication strategies
- Liaise with families and community resources to foster student success
