Director of Recruiting at Vaco Accounting & Finance

We are seeking a strategic and hands‑on VP of Finance to lead financial operations, planning, and risk management while developing a high‑performing finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the finance and accounting teams, including hiring, performance management, and professional development.
  • Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, and long‑term financial planning.
  • Manage asset/liability management activities in partnership with executive leadership and the Board, including coordination with external advisors.
  • Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee month‑end close, board reporting, CECL analysis, and accounting for impaired assets.
  • Support audits, tax filings, and related financial documentation.
  • Analyze financial performance, KPIs, and variances to identify trends, efficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Provide financial analysis to support product development and strategic initiatives.
  • Participate in executive‑level committees and contribute to a positive, high‑engagement workplace culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience within a financial institution; credit union experience preferred.
  • Strong expertise in accounting, financial reporting, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with financial systems and Microsoft Office tools.
