The Health & Safety Coordinator will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of safety and compliance within a plant environment. This dynamic position is responsible for overseeing all health and safety programs, ensuring we not only meet but exceed regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Proven experience in a safety role, ideally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA guidelines and practices.
- Demonstrated ability to implement effective OSHA training programs.
- Proficiency in MS Office to facilitate seamless communication and reporting.
- Experience in delivering engaging individual and group training sessions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert health and safety support, coordinating and delivering essential employee training to empower our workforce.
- Collaborate closely with management to monitor compliance and proactively identify potential health and safety risks.
- Actively participate in reviews of new products and processes, including change management and hazard/risk analyses, ensuring health and safety considerations are at the forefront.
- Maintain and enhance the company’s health and safety libraries, ensuring easy access to valuable resources, including shared drives, records, videos, regulations, and reference manuals.
- Cultivate a culture of safety awareness through impactful internal communications such as memoranda, newsletters, scorecards, and tailored training programs.
- Engage in the company Safety Committee, reviewing meeting minutes and inspection reports while taking necessary actions to uphold safety excellence.
- Stay well-informed of federal and state health and safety regulations, vigilantly monitoring any changes to maintain compliance.
- Conduct thorough audits of practices and records, ensuring alignment with company programs and federal/state regulations.
- Monitor and analyze lost-time injuries, illnesses, and workers' compensation claims, reviewing incident investigation reports to guarantee corrective and preventative actions are effectively implemented.
- Lead accident investigation initiatives, uncovering trends and developing innovative programs aimed at enhancing safety performance.
