Our client is seeking an experienced Leave Administrator to serve as the subject matter expert for all employee leave programs. This role is responsible for administering and ensuring compliance with federal and Massachusetts leave regulations, including Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Short- and Long-Term Disability (STD/LTD), Workers' Compensation, and other paid and unpaid leave programs.
The Leave Administrator will act as the primary liaison between employees, managers, state agencies, and third-party leave administrators while providing exceptional support throughout the leave process.
Key Responsibilities Leave Administration- Administer and interpret leave programs, including FMLA, Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML), Workers' Compensation, Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), and other applicable leave programs.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and company leave policies and regulations.
- Coordinate leave requests from initiation through return-to-work.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees requiring leave, providing guidance throughout the process.
- Review and track medical documentation to ensure timely submission and compliance.
- Maintain regular communication with employees on leave and coordinate all return-to-work activities.
- Deliver employee communications and educational resources regarding leave and benefit programs.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, training materials, and reference guides related to leave administration.
- Create and manage reporting metrics to monitor leave utilization, retention, turnover, and workforce trends.
- Partner with HR Business Partners and leadership to develop effective return-to-work strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Track program expenses and assist with departmental budgeting and forecasting.
- Ensure proper coordination of Short-Term Disability claims with FMLA and Massachusetts PFML benefits.
- Serve as a trusted resource for managers and employees regarding leave policies and eligibility.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and reporting obligations.
- Collaborate with third-party leave administrators, state agencies, and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient case management.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience
, including at least 2 years of direct leave administration experience
. - Hands-on experience administering:
- Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
- Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML)
- Workers' Compensation
- Short-Term Disability (STD)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now
