6-Month Contract (Full-Time Applications Also Encouraged)
Location:
Cambridge, MA (Hybrid)
We are supporting a cutting-edge AI driven biotech in the search for a Principal Computational Scientist to drive a high impact antibody discovery initiative. This 6 month contract role is for a senior scientist with deep expertise in AI and machine-learning-based protein design, and a strong grounding in antibody biology, capable of translating advanced computational methods into experimentally validated therapeutics.
This role sits at the intersection of artificial intelligence, machine learning, algorithm development, structural biology, and protein engineering, and is best suited to someone who can translate advanced computational approaches into experimentally actionable outcomes.
What You’ll Be Responsible For- Leading AI-enabled computational antibody and protein design using machine learning, deep learning, and structure-based methods
- Designing, implementing, and refining algorithms and AI/ML models for antibody sequence generation, scoring, and optimization
- Applying AI-driven design workflows to improve binding affinity, specificity, and functional performance
- Developing and deploying computational develop ability assessments, including stability, solubility, manufacturability, and immunogenicity risk
- Integrating experimental data to train, validate, and continuously improve AI and ML models
- Working closely with wet-lab scientists, bioinformatics, and data science partners to guide iterative design cycles
- Contributing to the evolution of end-to-end, AI-enabled antibody design pipelines, from concept through candidate selection
- Providing senior-level technical leadership and scientific direction within cross-functional project teams
- PhD in Computational Biology, Structural Biology, Protein Engineering, Biophysics, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of applied industry or translational research experience in computational antibody or biologics design
- Strong background in artificial intelligence and machine learning, with hands‑on experience building, training, and deploying models (e.g. deep learning, generative models, representation learning)
- Demonstrated algorithmic strength, including the ability to design and implement novel or adapted algorithms for protein modeling and optimization
- Proven experience optimizing antibodies for binding, functionality, and develop ability
- Experience working with AI-driven and structure-based protein design tools
- Ability to interpret complex biophysical and develop ability data to drive model-informed design decisions
- Duration: 6 months (with potential extension based on program needs)
- Location:
Cambridge, MA (hybrid onsite presence expected) - Rate: $140–$160/hour, depending on experience
