JDE Application Development manager

Location: Lawrence, MA |
Schedule: Full-time, on-site

An established manufacturing and distribution organization is seeking an Application Development Manager to lead the design, development, and support of business-critical applications, including JD Edwards ERP and other internal systems. This leadership role will manage a team of developers, set priorities, coach talent, and ensure technology solutions align with business goals, while driving continuous improvement and maintaining fiscal accountability across the application lifecycle.

• Oversee the design, development, and support of business-critical applications, including JD Edwards ERP and other internal systems
• Lead, manage, and coach a team of developers, setting priorities and fostering growth
• Ensure technology solutions align with business goals and strategy
• Drive continuous improvement across the application lifecycle
• Maintain fiscal accountability for development projects and tools, including budget management and resource optimization
• Manage integrations between ERP and external systems
• Collaborate cross-functionally with business stakeholders
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

• Strong understanding of JD Edwards Enterprise One or World development environments (OMW, BSFN, UBE, etc.)
• Familiarity with SQL, RPG, or other relevant programming languages and frameworks
• Experience managing integrations between ERP and external systems
• Comfortable with modern development tools and project tracking systems
• Proven ability to lead and coach technical teams
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally with business stakeholders
• Demonstrated success in aligning IT development with business strategy and measurable outcomes
• Experience managing budgets and optimizing resources within IT or application teams
• Strong problem-solving mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
• Hands-on experience with modern software architecture, development methodologies (Agile/Scrum), and Dev Ops practices
• Experience with enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, or manufacturing management platforms
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive experience in application development, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role

• Experience working in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment strongly preferred
