General Summary

The Associate Registrar for Curriculum Management is responsible for developing and managing systems and processes related to curriculum/requirement management in the Registrar’s office. The incumbent is responsible for the development and oversight of student planning and monitoring systems such as the degree audit system, the course planner and graduation tracking and certification. In addition, the incumbent will serve as project manager to develop and maintain the Curriculog and Acalog systems that track changes through university governance approval process, interpret them accurately and ensure that all related systems are kept current.

The incumbent directly supervises the staff assigned to these areas and indirectly supervises and advises staff who work with these systems. They will work directly with department Chairs, Deans, Colleges and other academic and administrative offices to ensure that curriculum management systems are meeting the goals and targets set by the university. They will serve as the security administrator for these systems and will approve all requests for access and will also be responsible for creating and running reports as needed from these systems.

of Duties
  • Responsible for the development, design and oversight of the university’s degree audit, Curriculog, Acalog and graduation tracking and certification processes and systems and other related systems
  • Supervises and reviews the work performed by the staff in the audit, transfer and graduation areas of the Registrar’s Office;
  • Acts as project manager for the development and maintenance of the online curriculum change management system (Curriculog)
  • Working with departments and administrators, oversees the editing and publication of the University academic catalog (undergraduate and graduate);
  • Trains and supports faculty and staff across the campus on the degree audit, degree planner and Curriculog applications and processes.
  • Coordinates with University Information Technology Services (UITS) and third party contractors (College Source, Curriculog, etc) to ensure that the interfaces between the audit modules are updated properly and that needed modifications are made in a timely fashion;
  • Serves as the main liaison with the Office of the Provost and the Faculty Council to ensure that all approved changes that come through the university governance system are interpreted accurately and the system is modified correctly; meet with all academic departments and reviews all governance documents to ensure the accuracy of all degree requirements encoded in the degree audit system;

  • Analyzes all potential upgrades and modifications to the audit system; course planner, graduation tracking and certification processes and advises colleges and University administrators as to possible improvements and/or changes that can be made to the system;
  • Responsible for overseeing the coordination and application of University transfer policies and their application to the degree audit system.
  • Acts as the security administrator for the degree audit system; review applications for access, decide the level of access and code the system in the proper manner;
  • Creates and runs reports from the audit and Curriculog systems as needed to inform decision-making and curriculum planning.
  • Serves on and/or advises University/college committees related to curriculum management and policies, as needed.
  • Works with all administrative and academic offices who support the evaluation of records, including transfer credit, to advise on how best to use the system;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a closely related field and a minimum of seven to ten years higher education systems and administration. An additional four years of work experience in an Enrollment Management department with experience in university curriculum issues and business processes can be substituted for the required Bachelor’s Degree.
