Lab Supervisor

Position Overview

1st Shift 7:00am-3:30pm. Provide general oversight and support for the lab and technicians.

• Oversee adherence to test methods and laboratory procedures.
• Perform inventory management of all bulk and reagent chemicals.
• Direct proper preparation, storage, and use of all controlled materials.
• Evaluate supplies and materials needed for testing and direct purchasing department on correct ordering.
• Keep accurate records related to testing activities and prepare summary reports of data in a timely manner.
• Troubleshoot instruments, equipment, and production processes.
• Perform routine analytical and physical process control testing including evaluation of external test reports.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives in the laboratory department including internal auditing; participate in audits pertaining to NADCAP.
• Conduct customer surveillance audits.
• Identify or recommend new or upgraded equipment and/or methods to improve productivity and capacity.
• Monitor, measure and implement corrective action to improve results within the department.
• Participate in new process implementation within the company including customer specification reviews.
• Interact with outside vendors, laboratories, and customers to communicate requirements and resolve issues.

The position involves working with and around hazardous chemicals and solvents. The majority of work is performed in shop conditions and can be in excess of 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer season.
