At NEUCO, you'll be part of a team working to support critical utility and energy infrastructure.
  
 The Vacuum Truck Operator locates existing underground utilities, utilizing vacuum excavation. The Vacuum Truck Operator operates equipment safely and efficiently to limit downtime and minimize costs.

What You'll Do
 Primary responsibilities include locating underground utilities, clean-up of equipment and job sites, and driving the vacuum trucks
 Completes visual and daily safety inspection of equipment to ensure safe operations also identifies and communicates potential repair needs to shop mechanic
 Performs routine maintenance such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning of vac-trucks
 Completes and ensures record keeping paperwork is accurate
 Ability to understand and interpret customer as-builts and schematics.
 Clear understanding of Dig-Safe laws and regulations
 Maintain all industry required Operator Qualification certifications
 Other duties as requested by leadership

What You'll Have
 High school diploma or GED required
 Class A or B commercial driver's license required
 Minimum 2 year’s prior experience as a Laborer within gas utility industry required
 Adequate understanding of vacuum exaction, utility location, and operational functionality of vacuum trucks
 OSHA Competent Person Certified, OSHA 10 preferred
 Knowledge and skill in using technology such as laptops and tablets
 Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
 Strong organizational and time management skills
 Proven success in meeting critical deadlines under stressful conditions
 Strong sense of personal responsibility and desire to keep crew safe and compliant
 Detail oriented

 Work Environment
 Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
 All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English
 Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling
 Work is performed within the “red zone” of heavy equipment
 Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

 Legal Stuff
 Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
 This position is safety-sensitive and covered under the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulations, 49 CFR Part 40.
