Position Responsibilities:
The Protective Services Quality and Screening Specialist plays a central role in Quality Assurance and Compliance in the PS Department through field visit assessments, case documentation review, targeted re-training of longer-term staff, general reports, and oversight of Designation Review and corrective actions. They will oversee the onboarding and professional development of new hires, both in the Lawrence and Danvers offices, and out in the field.

Additionally, they will be responsible for screening reports and providing other programmatic support. This role will also coordinate all departmental training and community presentations. Additional duties include other tasks as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Creates (in collaboration with management) and maintains a QA feedback system. Conducts QA field visits to assess staff performance and ensure staff are meeting programmatic standards.
  • Reviews cases and documentation as part of ongoing QA efforts.
  • Runs reports and manages quality assurance data to support programmatic compliance.
  • Develops and manages all onboarding activities for new workers, including coordinating training plans in conjunction with AGE and agency mandated training, arranging shadowing opportunities, and observing new workers in the field.
  • Oversees new hires until they receive their first case assignment and transition to their long-term supervisor.
  • Provides coaching and guidance to any staff member requiring additional development, including accompanying staff in the field, modeling investigative interviews, and offering direct support on cases.
  • Manages all AGE training activities, ensuring staff complete training in a timely manner.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Protective Services and Assistant Director of Protective Services to maintain the departmental training schedule by coordinating and communicating with guest speakers, booking rooms, and other logistics.
  • Coordinates and delivers Age Span Quarterly Training for departmental staff.
  • Screens PS reports of abuse from reporters. This position will have a minimum of two assigned shifts per week and will be part of a rotating screening coverage schedule. Additional screening shifts may be required during periods when onboarding responsibilities are not active or to provide coverage when screening staff are unavailable.
  • Provides coverage support for the PS Department, including participation in after-hours rotating on-call system.
  • Sets up new hire accounts and resources including PEX cards, APS access, Uber accounts, PS Team Groups, business cards, and interpretation software access.
  • Develops and delivers Community Presentations representing Age Span in the broader community.
  • Processes waivers for new staff as needed.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Masters or higher degree from an accredited school in social work, psychology, counseling, human development, nursing, sociology, criminal justice, public health, public policy, or gerontology, plus at least one year of experience in counseling, casework, case management, preferably in a Protective Services or crisis intervention role preferred; A Bachelors' degree from an…
