This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

Per our commitment to a safe environment and youth protection, you must attend required CAP and Safety/Risk Management Trainings each year.

Qualifications

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of participants in the program by providing close supervision of all activities.
  • Independently manage and facilitate activities for youth; management of groups includes but is not limited to:
    Assisting with activity supervision
    Assisting lesson planning and implementation
    Keeping accurate attendance documents
  • Create an environment that is diverse, culturally sensitive, and relevant to the needs of youth
  • Ability to work cooperatively with professional staff and other departments.
  • By personal example, help interpret the quality of YMCA Character Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
  • Accept and perform all other responsibilities necessary for the organization's good as required by the supervisor (remains flexible).
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • · At least 15 years of age
  • · Commitment to personal youth development
  • · Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • · General knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Power Point
