Overview
The Materials Handler III is a full-time, overtime-eligible position that reports to the Materials Management Team. This role is responsible for performing shipping, receiving, inventory control, material handling, and warehouse support activities to ensure the accurate and efficient flow of materials throughout the organization. The Materials Handler III supports inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, customer requirements, and operational objectives through the effective management of incoming and outgoing materials, warehouse transactions, and inventory activities.

This role is responsible for performing shipping, receiving, inventory control, material handling, and warehouse support activities to ensure the accurate and efficient flow of materials throughout the organization. The Materials Handler III supports inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, customer requirements, and operational objectives through the effective management of incoming and outgoing materials, warehouse transactions, and inventory activities.
EssentialFunctions
- Count, weigh, and measure incoming and outgoing materials to verify accuracy against bills of lading, purchase orders, shipping documents, invoices, and other records.
- Inspect incoming shipments for damage, discrepancies, or shortages and coordinate resolution activities with Purchasing and other departments as needed.
- Perform cycle counts and inventory verification activities to support inventory accuracy objectives.
- Pick, package, label, and prepare materials for shipment in accordance with customer requirements and company procedures.
- Prepare domestic and international shipments in compliance with applicable DOT, IATA, and other shipping regulations.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, dollies, and other material handling equipment to move and store materials safely and efficiently.
- Process Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) and ensure proper documentation and inventory transactions are completed.
- Receive incoming products and accurately process transactions within company systems.
- Maintain finished goods inventory within warehouse and cold-storage locations, including inventory rotation, lot control, serial number tracking, expiration date monitoring, and kit creation activities.
- Prepare international shipping documentation and coordinate shipment scheduling with freight forwarders and transportation providers.
- Provide shipping quotations and logistics support to Customer Service and internal stakeholders.
- Create purchase requisitions and support departmental procurement activities as required.
- Investigate, document, and reconcile inventory and material variances.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
- Assist in training and onboarding new Materials personnel as assigned.

- Five (5) or more years of warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory control, or related materials management experience.
- Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using various units of measure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, and the ability to utilize warehouse-related computer systems, printers, and related equipment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work the department schedule and additional hours as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain forklift certification.
- Experience with ERP or inventory management systems.
- Knowledge of domestic and international shipping requirements, including IATA and DOT regulations.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and/or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to frequently move throughout warehouse, cold storage, and manufacturing areas.
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods while performing computer-based and administrative tasks.
- Ability to operate computers, scanners, printers, and other standard office and warehouse equipment.
