Production Control Specialist

Overview

The role reports to the Supply Chain Manager and is responsible for planning raw materials, ordering materials, and providing guidance to shop‑floor supervisors and managers on flow, inventory, rework, and other information related to the timely completion of orders. The position also participates in month‑end physical inventory and performs data entry, tag writing, and reconciliation.

• Provide a procurement plan for all raw materials.
• Manage inventory levels: entitlements versus stocking programs.
• Problem‑solve stocking variances with cooperation from warehouse leaders.
• Maintain and facilitate a plan for SLOB and obsolete raw materials.
• Utilize and initiate an effective FIFO system (First In, First Out).
• Create and maintain a consignment plan where warranted.
• Work with production to build good stock locations and facilitate visual factory management of raw materials.
• Oversee outside warehouse inventory and deliveries of raw material.
• Effectively communicate with suppliers via phone, fax, and email.
• Reconcile supplier packing slips and invoice discrepancies with receiving and accounting.
• Hold suppliers accountable for purchase order attainment and accuracy.
• Perform cycle counts for raw materials in process of attaining an inventory exemption plan.
• Clear "Cogi – issuing raw materials to shop floor".
• Record all raw materials in SAP.
• Manage tags, assign locations for all raw materials, and keep ongoing inventory of on‑hand supply.
• Assist with scrap inventory and obsolescence.

• Fluent in SAP applications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
• Strong interpersonal skills with frequent interaction with suppliers and production personnel.
• Education:
  
  High School or GED Diploma preferred; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience as a planner or logistics planner; APICS certification desirable but not required.
