Production Operator Glaze Line M-F

Overview

SUMMARY: Performs intermediate semi-skilled work in applying glaze and decorating tile; does related work as required. Work is performed under general supervision.

• Operates a spray machine in the application of glaze to tile and assists with the training of spray operators.
• Follows department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Operates the spray machine and associated equipment to properly applying glaze or ink on tile.
• Keeps all applications in specification
• Makes and records the necessary quality checks.
• Identifies the source of quality defects and makes adjustments to ensure quality.
• Operates and adjust edge cleaning equipment to ensure proper specifications:
• Operates dryer entrance and exit tables and row former equipment.
• Fills out daily production reports, accurately, neatly and completely.
• Performs PM and minor maintenance on the spray machine and related equipment.
• Assists in the training of co-workers as required.
• Maintains cleanliness of the area.
• Practices correct safety procedures.
• Performs related tasks as required.
• Experience in the tile, stone, or ceramics industry is a plus.
• Experience in manufacturing is a plus.

• General knowledge of the principles and practices of operating and servicing the glaze and spray machine equipment.
• General knowledge of the occupational hazards involved and the safety precautions necessary to the proper operation of the equipment.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
