GPI is seeking highly qualified Bridge Coatings and coatings Inspectors to work on various projects throughout Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and other Midwest states
. Experience working on transportation department or municipal projects is highly preferred. Metalizing or shop inspection experience is also a plus. Work will start in the Spring and Summer of 2026.
Experience reviewing contractor submittals, procedures, and hazardous waste plans is also a plus. If you value a company that puts employee satisfaction and diversity at the forefront,

- Inspect, accept, or reject work performed as detailed by specifications or applicable codes.
- Monitor waste materials and traffic control as specified.
- Prepare daily and weekly inspection reports on conditions, progress, weather, and acceptability of work. Other reports as required by clients.
- Travel to multiple job sites if needed.
- Some assignments may include night shifts.
- Only AMPP Coatings Inspectors will be considered. Candidates must have a minimum of a Level CIP 1, Basic Coatings Inspector, and at least 1 year of experience inspecting bridge coating projects.
- Additional certifications such as SSPC Bridge Coating Inspector (BCI), SSPC C3 Supervisor, or Competent Person Training for Deleading of Industrial Structures are preferred.
- Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration.
- Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site.
- Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails, and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with team members.
- Able to stand for approximately 3 hours minimum a day up to 8 hours.
- Able to traverse a construction job site with uneven ground and elevation variation of 19" or less.
- Able to climb and leave a ladder to a platform varying from 6' to 20'.
- Able to wear and operate personal fall arresting apparatus and work at a height of 6' or higher.
- Able to wear GPI required PPE (hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles).
- Able to move equipment or inspection specimens weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Able to work in a confined space as defined by OSHA Construction Standards 29
CFR 1926. - Able to wear and work utilizing a respirator or SCBA type of breathing apparatus.
