Job Overview

The Road Builder – Asphalt Paving Laborer position is located in the Southern Middle Tennessee area, based out of Lawrenceburg, TN. This full‑time role focuses on safety and teamwork within highway paving crews.

• Starting Wage: $23.00/hr

• General labor on construction projects.
• Push and pull asphalt rakes to level asphalt to fine grade specifications.
• Use sledgehammer to drive pins and pick and shovel to dig.
• Hook up trailers and fasten attachments to equipment.
• Perform flagger duties: set up traffic control, place barrels and cones.
• Smooth freshly poured asphalt, shovel asphalt or other materials.
• Assist other workers as directed and perform additional assigned duties.
• Opportunity for entry‑level and experienced asphalt pavers.

• Ability to work outdoors in extreme conditions (cold, heat, humidity).
• Maintain a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations.
• Report any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager.
• Assist in patching asphalt with hot and cold mix.
• Follow Foreman direction on daily tasks and project expectations.
• Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and overtime as needed.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Knowledge of general principles and practices of industrial maintenance, construction, or aggregate production.
• Previous related experience preferred but not required.
• Work independently and complete daily activities according to schedule.
• Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
