Aboutthe Role
As our new Infection Preventionist, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, developing, coordinating, and directing our infection control program, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This is a dynamic and versatile role that requires strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills. You will be the primary point of contact for infection control matters and will work closely with the Administrator, Infection Control Committee, and other stakeholders to maintain an effective infection control program at all times.
Responsibilities- Plan, organize, develop, coordinate, and direct the infection control program in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations
- Conduct surveillance and monitoring activities to identify trends and patterns of infections and develop strategies to prevent and control infections
- Develop, implement, and maintain infection control policies, procedures, and protocols
- Provide educational programs and training to staff on infection control and prevention practices
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of infection control activities
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to identify and address infection‑related issues
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of infection control activities, including reporting and investigating incidents
- Provide guidance and support to staff on infection control practices and procedures
- Collaborate with the Infection Control Committee to develop and implement infection control policies and procedures
- Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in the state of Tennessee
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment with multiple priorities
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Willingness to be on call rotation
