Job Type: Full-Time | Night.

Schedule:

3x12, 7p-7a, Rotating Weekends. Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 available to eligible applicants.

The Intensive Care Unit is a close-knit team that provides comprehensive, high-acuity care to critically ill patients through evidence-based practice, advanced technology, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

How You ll Contribute
  • Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care as appropriate.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What We re Looking For

Applicants should have a current Tennessee or compact state RN license and possess an associate s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • Certifications:

    Basic Life Support (BLS) within 7 days of hire, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 3 months of hire, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 3 months of hire.
  • Required Skills:

    Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Experience:

    One year of previous experience preferred.
  • Licenses:
    Must be a licensed Registered Nurse with the State of Tennessee or a licensed Registered Nurse from a Compact State with proper Tennessee paperwork filed within 30 days of hire.
  • Education:

    Associate s degree required. BSN preferred.
