Administrative Assistant I
The Administrative Assistant I performs routine administrative duties and provides staff support for the Office of Public Safety in the Parking Services unit. This position is designated as Campus Security Authority (CSA) and is responsible for reporting crimes and other incidents to the Clery Act Compliance Officer for inclusion in the Annual Campus Security Report in accordance with the Federal Clery Act and GGC policy.
Responsibilities include processing and tracking parking citations, fines and appeals; providing customer service to students, employees and visitors over the phone and face to face; issuing parking permits and decals; compiling data and maintaining confidential information and records; assisting Parking Services Student Assistants as needed; performing work under direct supervision; handling basic issues and problems, and referring more complex issues to higher-level staff;
and performing other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and 1 year of previous Administrative Assistant or related office experience. Preferred qualifications include 2-3 years administrative assistant experience.
The proposed salary range is $33,280 - $37,900, and the offer will be dependent on candidate's experience and qualifications, internal equity considerations, budget availability, and salary administration guidelines.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities include advanced clerical and organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), ability to operate a desktop computer and use various software programs, effective listening, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills, ability to calm situations when dealing with upset individuals about parking fines, and ability to multi-task.
