Create Gwinnett is seeking a qualified teaching artist, team of artists, or arts organization to lead ART RX, a year-long arts + health collaboration embedded within the View Point Health Adult Day Program in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
This is not a traditional art class. ART RX is a trauma-informed, process-based creative engagement program focused on emotional well-being, dignity, connection, and quality of life. The selected teaching artist will collaborate with Create Gwinnett and View Point Health staff to facilitate up to 24 in-person workshops and participate in two public-facing showcase events.
This cross-sector initiative is funded through South Arts with support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Funding for this project is fully secured. This project is year 1 of a multi-year partnership.
- Independent contractor agreement
- Flat fee up to $10,000
- Includes planning, facilitation, materials, and showcase participation
- Estimated commitment of 110 hours across the project period
- Open artistic discipline – visual art, music, movement, storytelling, or mixed approaches
- Workshop scheduling is flexible during the times of Wednesday – Friday, 10:00am – 2:00pm
- Teaching artists should focus on accessibility, adaptability, and trauma-informed practice
- Opportunity for potential contract extension through 2028
