Job SummaryGeorgia Gwinnett College (GGC) invites applicants for a Lecturer in Environmental Science who will serve as the manager and instructional coordinator of the campus microfarm. The microfarm will function as a living laboratory for environmental education, sustainability, community engagement, and interdisciplinary collaboration, supporting courses across the sciences and related fields. The successful candidate will oversee microfarm operations, coordinate curriculum integration across environmental science and allied disciplines, and facilitate engagement, faculty collaboration, and community partnerships that advance sustainability education.
In addition, the Lecturer will teach a range of undergraduate environmental science courses, including introductory environmental science, sustainability, environmental policy, and other courses aligned with the candidate’s expertise. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to experiential and interdisciplinary teaching, student mentorship, and service to the college and community. GGC values innovative teaching, scholarship, advising, and mentoring.
Required QualificationsApplicants should hold a Master of Science degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in one or more of the following areas:
- Sustainability
- Environmental science or environmental policy
- Ecology or conservation biology
- Horticulture, agriculture, or soil science
- A closely related field
