Job Summary
Georgia Gwinnett College is now accepting applications for part‑time faculty positions in Environmental Science in the School of Science & Technology for the academic year ). The posting will remain active for AY26-27 hiring (Fall, Spring, and Summer).
Part‑time faculty positions are semester‑based and report directly to the Director of the Institute for Environmental Science and Sustainability. Courses may be conducted in various delivery modes including face‑to‑face, online, hybrid and/or blended formats. Courses taught may include Environmental Policy, Environmental Law, and Environmental Ethics for undergraduate students. These positions are on an as‑needed basis. Positions require additional time outside of class to provide written feedback to students and to meet individually with students throughout the semester.
Part‑time faculty may teach in the fall, spring, and/or summer semesters. Classes are offered morning, afternoon and evening, including weekends.
- Develop course curricula, including the syllabus, lesson plans, and graded assignments, in accordance with the requirements of the upper‑division program and in consultation with the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs.
- Review, evaluate, and recommend student learning materials.
- Evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving institutional and course goals.
- Submit required paperwork related to instruction in a timely and accurate manner.
A minimum of a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours (or 30 quarter hours) in the teaching discipline.
Preferred Qualifications- Terminal degree in the teaching discipline
- 1‑year college‑level teaching experience
- Sustained professional engagement that demonstrates relevance and currency in the field of teaching
