Job SummaryThe Pantry Assistant at the Lawrenceville Co-Op would center around exposing the student to the world of non-profits, specifically food needs of a food bank. Duties of the intern would center around various aspects of our pantry, including administration, loading/unloading trucks, sorting and dating food, making client boxes, helping with outside food needs (i.e. school pantries, etc.), and help with ordering and reports as needed.
This position requires travel to assigned Lawrenceville Co-Op locations.
Responsibilities- Prepare areas for food distribution by back filling the line, preparing and making food boxes, sorting and dating food.
- Help with the unloading/loading and weighing of food that comes in and out of the pantry.
- Help prepare outside food needs (i.e. GGC requests, other school requests, weekend school bags).
- Help with ordering and reporting.
- Guide volunteers as to what needs to be done.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Hours -
Tuesday 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
Thursday 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
(10 hours a week)
- Must have Federal Work Study award
- Must be enrolled a minimum of 6 credits at Georgia Gwinnett College
- Must be in good academic standing and maintain good academic standing for the duration of employment.
- Must be in good conduct standing with Georgia Gwinnett College and maintain good conduct for the duration of employment.
- Must be able to lift and move heavy items (i.e. around 40
-50 pounds at times). - Must have reliable transportation to and from work sites as required by the position.
