Job Summary

Georgia Gwinnett College is now accepting applications for part‑time faculty positions in Theater in the School of Liberal Arts for the academic year 2026‑2027. These semester‑based positions report directly to the Department Chair. Courses may be conducted in various delivery modes, such as face‑to‑face, online, hybrid, or blended formats. Positions are on an as‑needed basis. Faculty may teach in the fall, spring, and/or summer semesters.

Classes are offered at morning, afternoon, evening, and weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Develop course curricula, including the syllabus, lesson plans, and graded assignments, in accordance with program requirements and in consultation with the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs.
  • Review, evaluate, and recommend student learning materials.
  • Evaluate students to measure progress in achieving institutional and course goals.
  • Submit required paperwork related to instruction in a timely and accurate manner.
Required Qualifications

A minimum of a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours (or 30 quarter hours) in the teaching discipline.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Terminal degree in the teaching discipline.
  • One year of college‑level teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated sustained professional engagement that is relevant and current in the field of teaching.

Strong commitment to undergraduate education, student engagement, and service to the college and community. The institution values innovative teaching, advising, and mentoring (advising and mentoring are expected of all faculty).
