Our product portfolio includes transfer switches, whole-house surge protection, and commercial metering equipment. As our business grows, we are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team and help drive product development from concept to production.
Position OverviewAs an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and supporting electrical systems and components. You’ll work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to develop robust, manufacturable, and regulatory-compliant products. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in electrical engineering, hands-on experience with PCB design and power systems, and a strong desire to take on increasing responsibility.
Responsibilities- Design analog and digital circuits, select components, and create schematics and PCB layouts for products from start to finish.
- Evaluate product end-of-life impacts and mitigations.
- Support prototype development, debugging, and validation testing.
- Collaborate with mechanical, firmware/software, product management, and production teams to ensure seamless system integration.
- Assist in preparing documentation and regulatory submittals for product certifications (e.g., UL, CSA).
- Contribute to product improvements and design revisions based on test data, field feedback, or regulatory updates.
- Support production as manufacturing issues arise.
- Troubleshoot issues reported from the field and support the customer relations team on technical inquiries.
- Participate in project planning, documentation, and product reviews.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in an electrical design or development role.
- Experience with PCB CAD tools (e.g., Eagle, Altium Designer, KiCAD).
- Understanding of analog and digital circuits, power electronics, and embedded system interfaces.
- Familiarity with lab equipment (oscilloscope, DMM, power analyzer) for testing and troubleshooting.
- Experience operating lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers, etc.
- Experience with communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, and Serial, Ethernet, etc.
- Working knowledge of relevant safety and regulatory standards is a plus.
- Good organizational and communication skills with a willingness to learn and work cross-functionally.
- Experience with THT and SMT manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge with wireless communication (Cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth).
- Exposure to embedded systems or firmware integration.
- Familiarity with regulatory certification processes (e.g., UL, ANSI/IEEE, CSA).
