Risk Management & IMS Specialist (Open) – Lawrenceville, GA (Sever Rd – Cust. installations)
About the RoleThis position entails implementing and maintaining the industrial risk management process and the Industrial Management System (IMS) program for Airgas Process Gases (APG). The role covers five distinct businesses:
Dry Ice (ADI), National Carbonation (ANC), Nitrous Oxide (NOC), Red-D-Arc (RDA), and Specialty Products (ASP).
- Develop and oversee comprehensive risk management plans and systems across APG business units to ensure operational safety and compliance with OSHA-PSM, RMP, and other regulatory standards.
- Lead Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) studies, conduct technical audits, and drive continuous improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Evaluate business gaps regarding Group Procedures (GP-04 and GP-08) and facilitate accident investigations and root cause analyses to maintain safety standards.
- Integrate risk management procedures into capital investment approvals and new business development projects to ensure appropriate oversight.
- Review, approve, or reject Management of Change (MOC) requests and coordinate Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) to identify and mitigate hazards early.
- Provide training, facilitate knowledge sharing across teams, and collaborate with the HSE department to ensure site‑wide safety and regulatory compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical recommended).
- 2–5 years of experience in an industrial gas operational or engineering environment, with knowledge of core processes and technologies (e.g., ASU, Bulk, VSA).
- 2–5 years of experience leading process risk analysis assessments (e.g., PHA, HAZOP) with knowledge of RAGAGEP, Facility Siting, and Human Factors.
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of management.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
