Engineering Management, Inc. (EMI) is seeking an experienced Water Resources Engineer with well‑rounded experience advancing environmental solutions for a variety of local government client categories, with complex environmental challenges. This individual would ideally have specialty expertise in water/wastewater collection, storage and treatment facilities, water and sewer system modeling and master planning for local government, institutional and industrial projects.
Responsibilities- Planning, design, and evaluation of traditional and non‑traditional water and wastewater projects, drainage utility systems and other environmental engineering projects.
- Conduct engineering studies, reports, plans and specifications, and opinions of probable construction costs for major projects, aiding the project team’s understanding of the client’s program needs and acting as the client’s advocate for the project.
- Provide quality assurance and control checks.
- Resolve a variety of complex problems such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements.
- Communicate and interact with the client manager and project team members, client representatives, review agencies and others as appropriate to the project.
- B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering, or a similar degree with relevant experience.
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) licensure in the state of Georgia is preferred.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in environmental/water resources engineering consulting for local government/municipal or industrial clients.
- Up to ten years of combined experience as project engineer and/or project manager on municipal water and wastewater facilities, pipelines, and pump stations in Georgia.
- Understanding of environmental regulations and potential application to clients’ needs required; experience in storm water quality and quantity management helpful.
- Experience in process wastewater management and treatment is a plus.
- Proficiency in the latest version of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and water and sewer system modeling software is a must.
- Proven experience in developing project plans, anticipating and addressing project issues and directing the completion of technical reports.
