Lawrenceville Surgery Center Hiring a Medical Biller, Full Time

After patient transactions have been properly coded, create billing batches. Review information from the patient’s file on the system chart. Verify insurance coverage. Bill per procedure and appropriate contract. Verify procedures and check modifiers. Write off per USPI policy and surgery center guidelines. Calculate correct fee and process billing transactions. Print bills. Post billings. Send bills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Experience billing in a surgical environment is a plus!

Requirements Qualification Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills using proper English grammar.
  • Healthcare background preferred. Six months of related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Accounting and math skills. Computer competency. Reasoning ability. Basic coding knowledge.
  • Familiar with patient accounting software, especially Advant

    X.
  • Ability to read and understand insurance explanations of benefits and managed‑care contracts.
  • Knowledge of Internet Explorer, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook.
