Position Overview
A growing healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Manager with strong Gastro practice expertise to lead billing operations and drive revenue cycle excellence. This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and understands the complexities of procedure-based specialties.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily billing operations including charge entry, coding accuracy, claim submission, payment posting, and denial management.
- Ensure specialty-specific coding compliance, including documentation review and CPT/ICD-10 accuracy, with applied modifier expertise for time-based services.
- Monitor revenue cycle performance and implement strategies to reduce denials, improve collections, and shorten A/R days.
- Supervise and develop billing staff through training, performance evaluations, and workflow optimization.
- Support patients, providers, and staff with insurance and billing inquiries while training team members to handle complex billing questions.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to resolve coding issues, improve documentation, and streamline workflows.
- Maintain payer relationships and stay current on reimbursement policies, regulatory updates, and compliance standards.
- Prepare financial and operational reports for leadership, highlighting trends, risks, and revenue opportunities.
- Oversee provider and facility credentialing processes as they relate to billing and reimbursement.
- Minimum 5 years of medical billing management experience within a healthcare practice or ASC environment.
- Strong background in high-volume, procedure-based specialty billing.
- Hands-on experience with time-based billing models, modifiers, concurrency rules, and denial management.
- Thorough understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding with demonstrated accuracy.
- Proficiency in billing software, EHR systems, and advanced Excel/reporting skills.
- Knowledge of payer regulations including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans.
- Proven leadership and communication skills with experience managing billing teams in a fast-paced setting.
- CPC certification or bachelor’s degree in finance, healthcare administration, or related field.
- Experience with in an ASC or multi-specialty practice environment.
- Background in revenue cycle optimization and performance improvement initiatives.
Full-time, onsite position requiring collaboration with physicians, clinical teams, and administrative leadership to ensure efficient and compliant financial operations.
