This position involves managing overflow Intermediate Medical Care Unit (IMCU) patients, including complex cardiac cases such as arrhythmias, cardioversion, congestive heart failure, chest pain, and post-cardiac catheterization care. You will also care for patients with pulmonary conditions (COPD, pulmonary edema), renal issues, vascular cases, and occasional orthopedic or cerebrovascular overflow. Proficiency with cardiac drips-amiodarone, cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, nitroglycerin, milrinone-and hemodynamic monitoring are essential.
Experience with Epic electronic health records and related clinical systems is preferred.
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience in acute care setting
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Strong competency in cardiac care, arrhythmia management, and medical-surgical nursing
- Familiarity with Epic, Pyxis, SBAR communication
- Ability to float within facility as needed
- Night shift availability (3x12-hour shifts, 7 pm to 7 am)
- Compliance with facility onboarding requirements
- Deliver high-quality care to patients with cardiac and medical-surgical conditions in a 32-bed overflow unit
- Manage cardiac drips and hemodynamic monitoring post-percutaneous interventions
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams using clinical judgment within a fast-paced environment
- Perform emergency interventions, including cardioversion and arrhythmia stabilization
- Maintain compliance with all clinical documentation and facility policies
- Night shift: 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., three 12-hour shifts per week
- Weekend rotation every other weekend
- Call is rare with a 2-hour response time if required
- Expectation to work major holidays falling within assignment period
