Responsibilities
Summit Ridge Hospital – is a place for Healing and Hope! Our behavioral health psychiatric hospital is in Lawrenceville (about 25 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta). We provide psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment to adolescents, adults, and seniors, in addition to partial hospitalization and other outpatient programs (includes a location in Athens). On average, over 10,000 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Summit Ridge Hospital.
Summit Ridge is proud to be a teaching facility that supports local nursing students through our dedicated and tenured nursing team.
Due to continued growth we are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our Plant Operations team. This position works PRN (as-needed). No set or guaranteed schedule/hours. Responsible for painting, finishing, and maintaining surfaces of walls, ceilings, and other parts of hospital, facilities and grounds. Assist with general maintenance tasks as needed. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, functional, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare surfaces for painting (e.g., washing, sanding, scraping, patching, priming).
- Apply paint, varnish, stains, and other finishes to hospital walls, doors, ceilings, furniture, and other surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Select appropriate materials and colors according to job specifications.
- Maintain clean and safe work areas during and after projects.
- Properly store and handle paints, solvents, and tools according to safety regulations.
- Perform minor repair work including patching drywall, replacing ceiling tiles, adjusting doors, and assisting with light plumbing or electrical tasks.
- Respond to work orders and maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist in setup and teardown for facility events or room relocations.
- Work collaboratively with other maintenance staff and hospital departments.
- Responds in a timely manner to alarms and codes in accordance with safety and security policies and procedures.
- Carries out routine plumbing and electrical maintenance and repairs as needed needs.

Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Two (2) years of related technical/trade school preferred.
Experience: Recent work history in a similar setting is strongly preferred. Must have experience in operating a variety of hand/power tools and equipment ensuring proper safety precautions. Working knowledge of Life Safety Code and OSHA preferred.
Licensure: Must have valid driver’s license.
