Senior Director, Construction and Maintenance
Exciting opportunity to lead the Construction, Maintenance and environmental compliance teams at a dynamic convenience store company! The Senior Director will drive operational excellence as the company continues to grow.
Primary Responsibilities- Liaison between senior leadership and the department to meet deliverables and develop strategic initiatives
- Directly manage the Director of Construction, Director of Maintenance and Environmental Compliance, with a total of 25 team members
- Oversee the budgeting and expenditure for the department and various ongoing projects
- Travel to various sites/projects working with internal/external stakeholders
- Construction – ensure the timely delivery of multiple construction projects across a network of company owned and operated C‑stores
- Construction projects can range from site remodels, branding changes, rebuilds, ground‑up development, and fuel system construction
- Manage various real estate activities that include but are not limited to lease management, divestitures, and store sales
- Environmental compliance – ensure the company meets or exceeds industry standards while complying with all processes and controls to ensure fuel quality
- Maintenance – Direct the leadership over a team concentrating on logistics for our field technicians, reports, quality assurance, and dispatching
- A strong sense of urgency and hands on approach
- Ability to flourish in a fast‑paced and fluid environment.
- Ability to monitor resources, job schedules, and materials in an environment of multiple competing demands.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to coordinate people + tasks.
- Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate to all levels of the project process (both internally and externally)
- Proficiency in project management, financial, presentation and communication software including Project, Word, Excel, Power Point
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience leading teams
- Related construction/maintenance experience, preferably with c‑stores or small box retail environment
