Extrusion Manufacturing Supervisor - 3rd Shift

Location: Lawrenceville, GA
Schedule: M-TH 5:30 PM until 4:30 AM with occasional mandatory overtime.
Pay Rate: $28 - $32+ hourly; depending on experience

Job Description

We are seeking to fill an opening for Night Shift Extrusion Shift Supervisor with extrusion experience to manage all aspects of the production process. We are looking for a motivated individual with the drive for success and teamwork.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure that production extruder operators and production material mixers are working within the guidelines of company policies and procedures to ensure quality products are being produced in a safe manner.

• Apply knowledge of Proper set-up, start-up, breakdown, and close-out to ensure that the equipment is operated in the proper manner to prevent equipment failure.

• Utilize control plans to serve as a guideline for materials testing; be familiar with lab testing and injection molding equipment.

• Follow and implement company policies to promote a safe and productive environment through effective teamwork and project involvement.

• Work closely with production extruder operators to minimize scrap yields and increase overall efficiencies.

• Verify accuracy of production paperwork to ensure shift metrics are correctly reported and work orders are filled out correctly.

• Evaluate & document employee performance to ensure employees are meeting overall performance expectations and company standards.

• Assist with developing and maintaining an effective organization through the selection, training, motivation, termination, and review of employees.

• Work with Quality Control Technicians to correct problems with any non-conforming materials during the production process.

• Communicate with warehouse personnel regarding locations and usage of raw materials & finished goods.

• Report to plant/operations management about any changes necessary to ensure the shift is successful. Additionally, document any incidents or maintenance concerns and communicate these accordingly.

Qualifications include:

• Hands on production supervisory experience: 3 years preferred ideally with background in injection molding or plastics extrusion.

• Proven experience as Supervisor or similar role

• Ability to lift 60 lbs.

• High School graduate or GED.

• The ability to communicate (read, write, speak) clearly in English.

• The ability to work overtime and/or flexible schedules including occasional weekends, as needed, to meet production demands.

• Knowledge of safe work rules.

• Must have good organization skills.
