View Point Health is a partner with DBHDD that provides individual and group counseling, medication management, recovery and crisis stabilization services for behavioral health and developmental disabilities.
We serve adult clients with psychiatric crisis intervention and stabilization services as well as substance use disorder. Our multidisciplinary approach includes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mental health clinical support services, substance use support, and medication management. We use a trauma‑informed, person‑centered care model.
A Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) operates 24 h/7 d (including weekends and holidays) to provide a safe, structured environment for clients in crisis. Unit patients typically stay 5–7 days until stabilized.
We also offer a Temporary Observation Unit (TOU) of up to 23 h to evaluate whether admission to the CSU or an inpatient psychiatric facility is needed.
Duties & Responsibilities- Serve as liaison between admitting facility, guardian, and our onsite team regarding client referrals and collateral information.
- Assess clients on arrival, monitor changes in condition, complete shift reports, daily and shift nursing notes, and nursing assessments.
- Develop initial nursing treatment plan and gather collateral information related to medication administration and crisis intervention.
- Provide clinical and medical input for the multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Support and supervise Direct Care Staff under direction of the registered nurse.
- Administer medical treatment, including PPEs, blood draws, urine samples, MD orders, charting, direct patient care, discharges, assessments, patient education, and documentation.
- Ensure medication administration follows the eight rights, using two client identifiers.
- Oversee client wellness and safety, manage stable medical conditions, and report findings to provider and team.
- Document vital client information in the electronic health record according to standards.
- Assist orientation of new staff, provide relief during breaks, and cover Direct Care floor as needed.
- Attend all training, nurse meetings, and other staff meetings as assigned.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Vocational/Technical degree from an accredited college.
- Current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Six months of nursing experience.
- Two years of nursing experience.
- One year of experience in a crisis or psychiatric unit.
- Experience working with individuals, adults, and psychiatric adults.
- Must be able to lift 20 lb.
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods.
- Must have a valid Georgia driver’s license and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record in line with company policy.
- Must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting).
- Must pass a pre‑employment drug screen and be subject to random drug screens.
- Any combination of training and experience that would have enabled the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.
