We have a team of highly skilled and compassionate surgeons providing services with leading-edge technology in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

We are now hiring a Registered Nurse to work in Pre-Op, OR, and PACU. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a commitment to support the clinic's goals of providing each patient with a positive experience while receiving quality comprehensive eye care from the providers.

The Registered Nurse provides ongoing assessment and nursing care to patients in the facility in accordance with Physician's orders, policies, procedures, and processes within the scope of practice. Participates in the teaching of patients and family and provides leadership by working cooperatively with the other health care team members. Collaborates with physicians and team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the direct and indirect provision of safe, professional nursing care of the patients in the operating room. The nurse is accountable for ongoing evaluation and documentation of all components of care delivered to patients within the perioperative and outpatient environment utilizing the nursing process.

Responsibilities

Follows and completes assignments as given by the RN Facility Administrator, Nurse Manager and Providers

Collaborates with appropriate disciplines in developing coordinated outcomes and interventions

Circulates surgical procedures for various surgeons that operate at the facility

Supports and maintains a safe patient care environment

Ensures that all clinical areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner

Prepares surgery suite for surgical procedures

Follows established universal precautions in the use of PPE

Individualizes patient care according to patient's health status and surgery/procedure being performed

Operates equipment and performs technical skills according to policies and standards

Recognizes situations (patient, staff, visitor, and physician) and significant assessment findings that require verbal or written communication and follow through to the appropriate people

Monitors surgery inventory and notifies appropriate individual(s) when supplies are needed

Participates in identifying and developing the performance improvement focus and criteria Supports the mission, vision, and core values of the organization

Observes facility policies, procedures, and processes

Purposefully conducts all aspects of job in an ethical manner in support of the organization's commitment to ethical behavior in all areas of personal and professional activity

Preparing patients for the planned procedure

Obtaining the patient's medical history, including medications, allergies, and reactions

Carrying out physician's orders

Observing the patient's medical condition including vital signs, affect, pain, and symptoms requiring further evaluation and treatment, and escalating concerns to the physician

Communicating to the patient and the care team in an effective manner

Relaying information to appropriate personnel concerning a patient's condition

Educating the patient including providing instructions in preparation for discharge

Administering medications per physician order

Appropriate documentation of care

Supervising non-licensed personnel as assigned

Maintaining appropriate supplies and medication

Assisting with the preparation and performance of procedures

Assisting in medical records maintenance

Utilizing safe practices and controls to protect patients and self from infection and exposure

Maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality at all times

Maintaining patient's rights

Maintaining positive and effective interpersonal relationships

Reporting and documenting any unusual occurrences and incidents in a timely manner
