POSITION OBJECTIVES
To ensure optimum results in providing prompt, efficient, reliable and courteous service on construction, operation and maintenance requirements of this position which will achieve the objectives of the Cooperative and the department or district to which assigned; to communicate and promote teamwork and cooperation in accordance with the Cooperative s mission, vision and values.

Actively participates within the Cooperative team environment to develop supportive relationships essential to the success of the functions of this position, achieving the results expected and encouraging throughout the organization the concepts of teamwork and cooperative spirit.
External:
Develops and maintains supportive relationships with member/consumers, the general public, and other external contacts to assure positive results.
This position requires medium work; visual acuity in mobile equipment operations with inspection; repetitive motions, hearing, talking, feeling, grasping, lifting, pulling, pushing, walking, standing, reaching, crawling, crouching, kneeling, stooping, balancing, climbing; and is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions in extreme heat or cold with noise, vibrations, and/or hazards.

Residency:
This position requires a residency within a twenty five (25) mile radius of the Office of employment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Learns the basics of transformer installation and operation. Learns the characteristics of three phase line operation.Learns to install, move, or removes transformers, security lights, secondaries, service drops, circuit breakers, poles, conductors, capacitors, regulators, reclosers, and/or any other line equipment under direct supervision and when assigned.Learns to install or remove instrument transformers, recording or indicating meters of all types, and learns to make load and voltage tests under direct supervision and when assigned.Learns to patrol distribution lines; learns to operate and maintain related equipment; learns distribution switching, sectionalizing and fusing when assigned.Sees that assigned trucks, tools, and working equipment are properly used and kept in good working order and that any required repairs are promptly reported to the Line Foreman or assigned Supervisor.Learns submission guidelines for time, mileage, and gas tickets, material charge-outs and credit-ins, and any other clerical forms or other required procedural work.Learns to read and interpret staking sheets; learns all RUS specifications and line construction assemblies; learns the National Electrical Safety Code and applicable portions of the National Electric Code and any other specifications or instructional material the Cooperative may incorporate on line construction.Operates automotive and construction equipment when assigned; complies with all traffic laws, safety rules, regulations and safe practices when operating assigned vehicle; at all times looks out for the safety of the vehicle, occupants and loads.Learns modern methods to be able to perform first aid, artificial respiration and pole top rescue/resuscitation.Studies the Cooperative s electrical and mechanical tagging rules and other numbering systems. Studies layout and characteristics of electrical distribution lines in the district or area to which assigned.Performs on-call duty assignments as a condition of employment when scheduled and required to maintain continuity of service after regular working hours on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays observed by the Cooperative.Is available after hours to assist with power restoration and other essential customer service tasks as needed to maintain continuity of service to customers.Receives communications and directives, verbally confirms full understanding, and keeps Line Foreman and or other assigned supervisor informed of important information concerning the work performed.Studies lineman manuals and other instructional guidelines to complete requirements outlined in the specifications for this position.Is familiar with and follows the best safety practices set forth in the Cooperative s Safety Manual.Keeps informed of all Cooperative…
