The Seasoned Commercial Electrical Technician is responsible for performing intermediate-to-advanced level electrical tasks with minimal supervision. This role requires a solid working knowledge of electrical systems, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team on installation, maintenance, and repair projects.
Job Responsibilities- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including panels, circuits, switches, outlets, and lighting in accordance with NEC and local codes
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to execute electrical work accurately
- Perform preventive maintenance and diagnostic testing on electrical equipment using appropriate tools and meters
- Work independently or under the supervision of a journeyman or foreman to complete tasks efficiently and accurately
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company procedures, including proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout protocols
- Identify material needs, pull wire, bend conduit, and make proper terminations.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to Electrical Technician I team members or helpers as needed
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, time spent, and materials used
- Complete assigned installations, diagnostics, and repairs accurately, meeting safety and performance standards
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) to minimize risk and maintain a safe job site
- Collaborate with journeymen, foremen, and peers to ensure smooth workflow and effective communication on job sites
This position reports to the local Service Manager and is responsible for engaging with the install team and all of our customers.
Qualifications- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in electrical installation, service, or maintenance roles.
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes.
