Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Position Summary

Walmart is expanding its workforce across local retail stores and is actively recruiting a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician. As a technician, you will support and oversee repairs within Walmart’s facilities refrigeration and HVAC equipment team using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills along with hand, digital, and power tools to complete jobs. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, using the work order management system, responding to emergency maintenance calls, inspecting facilities to diagnose issues, completing required safety training, ensuring compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations, and lifting up to 75 pounds while working at heights.

• 2 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance
• Large-scale rack refrigeration experience
• Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling
• Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
• Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years of mechanical maintenance or construction-related experience in commercial HVAC/R and building controls (or 4 years of related experience)

• Completion of a 2-year vocational or technical HVAC/R program
• Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills and tools.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training for equipment and tool safety.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by following Walmart’s refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently.

• Individual compensation packages are based on factors such as skill set, experience, job level, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
• Eligible for bonus incentive.

The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 – $45.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.

Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
