Description of Duties

The Gwinnett, Newton and Rockdale County Health Department is seeking a qualified candidate who will serve as the Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) Program Coordinator for the District HIV Prevention program, under the direction and guidance of the HIV Prevention Program Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for managing EHE program functionality, ensuring implementation of program deliverables as outlined in the Ending the Epidemic initiative.

The incumbent will oversee outreach functionality, including coordinating, planning and evaluating HIV prevention education and testing events. The coordinator will assist with overseeing timely completion of staff disease intervention functions to prevent and control HV/STDs; the incumbent will be responsible for budget management and ensuring timely reporting; collaborate with CBOs, clinicians, and other community partners to increase HIV surveillance, testing, and education among high-risk populations.

The Coordinator will manage a diverse range of operational and programmatic activities, along with the supervising of program staff, including Health Educators and Community Health Workers.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in education, social, behavioral, or biological sciences or a directly related field from an accredited college or university AND One (1) year of experience in public health education.
  • OR
  • One (1) year of experience at the lower level Hlth Educator 1 (HCP
    030) or position equivalent.
Preferred
  • Experience with program management, budgeting and reporting.
  • Experience performing partner services and linkage to care for HIV positive clients.
  • Experience collaborating and developing partnerships with community based organizations.
  • Experience establishing and participating in outreach functionality.
  • Experience supervising/managing staff.
  • Experience with oral presentations and executive level report writing.
  • Experience working in Public Health.
  • Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft applications.
