Job Description
This position delivers classroom instruction as well as hands‑on field related instruction related to commercial motor vehicles and heavy equipment operations. This position may also periodically conduct NSC Defensive Driving classes. The ideal candidate will possess a Class A commercial driver’s license, functional knowledge of commercial motor vehicle operation and pre‑trip inspection protocols, the ability to deliver effective classroom and in‑the‑field training classes, basic computer skills, and the ability to obtain a Defensive Driver Instructor certification within one year.
EssentialDuties
- Deliver Commercial Drivers’ License learner permit training.
- Deliver Commercial Motor Vehicle operator training.
- Schedule Commercial Drivers’ License testing with the Georgia Department of Drivers Services.
- Coordinate Commercial Motor Vehicle use with Field Operations teams.
- Maintain Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Training Provider Registry.
- Deliver specialized commercial motor vehicle training for equipment such as vac‑trucks and sewer camera vehicles.
- Deliver specialized heavy equipment training for items such as excavators, skid steers and backhoes.
- Deliver specialized training for mobile cranes, stationary cranes as well as rigging classes and certifications.
The grade for this position is 102. Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
Minimum Qualifications- Associate's degree in related field; AND
- Four years of related experience: OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
- Valid Driver's License in State of Residency.
- Valid class A Commercial Driver's License.
