Cameron University’s Department of Social Sciences seeks a full-time Instructor of Criminal Justice, starting August 2026. The role includes teaching undergraduate courses across a range of criminal justice topics, engaging in student advisement, department and university service, and supporting student scholarship. Faculty may teach face‑to‑face, online, or hybrid courses, with flexibility in instructional format.
Key Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate criminal justice courses based on faculty expertise and program needs.
- Support student advisement and mentoring.
- Assist with program and department assessment and development.
- Participate in departmental and university service activities.
- Support student organizations and events.
- Engage in professional development and maintain subject matter currency.
- Master’s degree in Sociology, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
- Ph.D. in Sociology, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
- Three years of teaching experience in higher education.
- Familiarity with teaching research methods.
- Experience in online instruction and Quality Matters standards.
- Professional experience as a practitioner in criminal justice or related field.
