Upper School Math Teacher

Position Overview

Riverfield Country Day School (RCDS) in Tulsa, OK, seeks a full‑time mathematics teacher for upper school levels, with employment beginning in August 2026. RCDS is an innovative, interdisciplinary school that encourages a "Design Doing" mindset where learning becomes visible and real‑world problem solving is at the core.

• Create an interactive learning environment that includes creative lessons and assessments.
• Provide opportunities for students to enter into academic dialogue through lively classroom discussion.
• View mathematics as a living discipline with tangible and teachable connections to the real world.
• Assess students to evaluate their abilities through the lens of a growth mindset.
• “Hands‑on” innovative teaching.
• Collaborate with grade‑level teachers to design interdisciplinary experiences and coursework.
• Establish regular and effective communication with students and parents.
• Engage in regular professional development and identify growth‑based goals.
• Participate in required non‑classroom activities including parent/teacher conferences, faculty meetings, special activities, academic advisory groups, and performance events.
• Foster a confident, collegial atmosphere within the Upper School and actively encourage interdisciplinary opportunities with colleagues.

• B.A./B.S. in Mathematics or a related field required; M.A./M.S. in Mathematics or a related field preferred.
• Ability to teach Upper School Mathematics at any grade level.
• Passion for subject matter and for working with bright, motivated teenagers in a rigorous, college‑preparatory environment.
• Agility and flexibility to collaborate on cross‑disciplinary projects and assignments.
• Successful high school or college teaching experience in a classroom setting.
• Independent School experience preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk and hear, traverse the classroom and school building, as well as outdoor areas. There are prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
