Position: ISD SUPERVISOR

Job Title

To create a structured program and a supervised school environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with students to motivate pupils to develop attitudes and knowledge needed to ensure a safe and orderly school environment. Also, work effectively with classroom teachers to coordinate the academic activities of suspended students and aids students in completing the assigned work.

Qualifications/Requirements

Education & Experience:

Must possess a high school diploma (or GED), and paprapo with some specialized training or experience in education. Also, must possess knowledge of a variety of academic subject areas, possess and have the ability to effectively apply methods for dealing with student misconduct. (0-2 years experience) Specific Training/Skills Job skills are required to perform tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.

Essential Duties:

Enforces adherence to established rules and regulations of the in-school suspension program and creates an effective climate for learning.

Keep appropriate records of ISS attendance and teacher's submission of classwork.

Assists students assigned to the program with completing their regular classroom assignments.

Communicates appropriate behavior, school rules, and regulations to students in the program; and explains to students the reasons for suspension and its impact on their education.

Guides and encourages students to develop a positive attitude toward learning.

Reports inappropriate behavior by students to professional staff members.

Communicates with parents and classroom teachers regarding student behavior and progress.
