Responsible to the Executive Director of Secondary Education or his/her designee, but under the direct supervision of the building principal.
Job Responsibilities- Assist principal in successful completion of his/her job targets.
- Use leadership, supervisory and administrative skills to promote the educational development of each middle school student.
- Help establish and maintain an effective middle school learning climate.
- Perform all duties of principal in his/her absence or as assigned.
- Help establish guidelines for proper conduct with appropriate consequences for inappropriate behavior.
- Help supervise and facilitate the teaching process.
- Help in the selection and supervision of building personnel.
- Supervise the daily use of facilities for both academic and nonacademic purposes.
- Keep abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending meetings, reading professional journals and other publications, especially as it pertains to middle level education.
- Assist in development, revision and evaluation of the curriculum.
- Help plan, organize and direct school activities making provisions for proper supervision and safety.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
