Position: Supervisory Engineering Technician (Petroleum)

Summary

This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs; position reports to Agency local leadership in Pawhuska, Oklahoma.

Major Duties

As Supervisory Engineering Technician (Petroleum), GS-0802, your typical work assignments may include:

- Plan, implement, and supervise the execution of program planning operations, budgeting, major alterations and improvements, and common services consistent with recognized management principles within assigned jurisdiction.

- Prepare and process a variety of documents such as reviewing and processing Application of Permits to Drill, reviewing all non‑petroleum mining permits for compliance.

- Report and control logs dealing with Leasing/Mining activities and monitoring and provide technical assistance.

- Independently carry out pre‑drilling well site resource inventories; conduct inspections of oil and gas drilling and production operations and facilities to ensure compliance.

- Make periodic field inspections during and after cleanup; may take soil and/or water samples to verify clean‑up activity.

- Confer and work with mineral lessees in solving technical and procedural problems.
