Salary Range: $55,000.00 To $70,000.00 Annually

Summary of position:

The Branch Manager supports frontline staff by overseeing the operations of all customer service functions contained within the lobby and drive-thru This position is directly responsible for the Business Banking Associates, New Account Representatives and Assistant Branch Managers (if applicable) including: coaching, motivating, counseling, scheduling, training, coordinating job duties, approving transactions and assisting with questions or problems. Provides effective coaching for accountability to maximize optimum service performance, while providing motivation to inspire continuous improvement of individual and team performance.

You will lead a team of banking professionals to achieve branch goals and uphold Sovereign bank’s commitment to serving the financial needs of our community.

Key job functions: (Includes current duties, primary objectives, and responsibilities which are critical to the successful performance of the position)

  • Provides prompt, efficient and accurate service in response to requests, inquiries, or problem concerning teller services provided by the bank.
  • Conduct new employee training for the teller operation component at the branch.
  • Ensures policies and procedures are being followed and takes action when needed to correct.
  • Ensure all internal control or audit functions are completed as required including teller drawer and vault audits.
  • Handle the necessary steps when outages for teller drawers occur including researching the outages, counting teller drawers, etc.
  • Ensure the outlined daily schedule for teller line employees is followed including but not limited to arrival, lunch and departure times for employees.
  • Oversee specific teller line tasks for their office, such as completion of opening and closing duties, supply stocking, daily mail duties, etc.
  • Update all applicable logs for their specific branch.
  • Process hold mail for their specific branch.
  • Assist Retail Banking staff with client issues or questions and balancing problems.
  • Perform Retail Banking functions as needed including teller and new accounts.
  • Serve as back up to all retail banking positions when needed including teller and new accounts.
  • Ensure equipment is operating and serviced at acceptable standards, recommending service or equipment needs to management.
  • Ensure that security measures are adhered to in the Teller opening and closing procedures.
  • Responsible for all facilities maintenance and upkeep including scheduling appropriate inspections.
  • Comply with all relevant regulatory requirements. (i.e. BSA large currency transaction reports, cashier’s check logs, Reg CC holds on checks).
  • Follow bank policies and procedures.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge and familiarity of the services and products offered by the bank.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field, preferred.
  • 3 years’ banking experience in retail banking required.
  • 2 years’ branch management experience preferred.
  • Advanced Knowledge of bank compliance regulations, policies and procedures.

Physical Demands:
These physical demands are generally representative of the position.

  • Hearing, speech, close vision
  • Driving with own transportation to other branches for meetings/workshops
  • On occasions, may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Job responsibilities may include standing, walking, lifting, kneeling, and crouching
