The normal starting pay for this position is the minimum of the pay range listed above. A higher rate of pay may be considered, dependent on the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant and/or the City’s step placement policy.

This job is located in the Current Planning and Urban Design Division of the Planning Department within the City of Oklahoma City and is under the direction of an immediate supervisor. The Zoning Compliance Officer is responsible for conducting special zoning inspections within the City’s historic and design districts and City-wide inspections of landscaping regulations; ensuring compliance with City codes and ordinances;

and administering, supporting and tracking enforcement processes.

• Interpreting and enforcing zoning and landscape regulations within the corporate City limits.
• Assisting the public and applicants by providing technical information regarding City codes, ordinances, and regulations.
• Coordinating with Development Services zoning and code enforcement staff.
• Operating a City vehicle to travel to and from inspection sites and other locations as required to perform assigned duties.
• Conducting zoning inspections to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
