A government contract requires that this position be restricted to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. You must provide documentation that you are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident to qualify.

The Clinical Psychologist provides virtual, evidence-based individual and group behavioral health care to low- to moderate-acuity patients within the Military Health System. The role includes evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of mental health conditions, developing comprehensive treatment plans, and providing follow‑up care. The incumbent exercises sound clinical judgment, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, and supports military‑specific requirements such as fitness‑for‑duty evaluations, Medical Evaluation Boards (MEBs), and Active Duty Profiles.

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Clinical Psychologist:
Commensurate with experience.

Clinical Psychologist Responsibilities
  • Conduct bio‑psychosocial evaluations, assess laboratory and clinical findings, and develop treatment plans.
  • Provide virtual psychotherapy and counseling to low‑and moderate‑acuity patients.
  • Recommend hospitalization and determine fitness for duty, completing MEBs, Temporary Disability Retirement List (TDRL) evaluations, psychological autopsies, sanity boards, and other required administrative processes.
  • Maintain accurate, timely patient documentation in accordance with SOPs; update charts within 72 hours or by COB for high‑acuity cases.
  • Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, nurses, social workers, and military leadership to coordinate patient care and ensure safety.
  • Communicate TRICARE and DoD behavioral health requirements effectively to patients.
  • Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Clinical Psychologist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities
  • Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Clinical Psychology.
  • Minimum of 2 years post‑graduate experience providing virtual clinical psychology services; experience in the Military Health System preferred.
  • Current, active, unrestricted license to practice psychology independently in the U.S.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Must obtain and maintain appropriate clinical privileges and fulfill credentialing requirements.
  • Must pass pre‑employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
