Postmortem forensic toxicology laboratory position – Chemist
The incumbent will serve as a Quality Assurance Lab team member in the Forensic Sciences Section at the Federal Aviation Administration’s Civil Aerospace Medical Institute located in Oklahoma City, OK. Job duties entail reviewing analytical data generated from the analysis of drugs, alcohol, and toxic gases on human biological specimens to ensure compliance with laboratory policies and accreditation requirements.
The position responsibilities include:
- receipt and accessioning of biological specimens from aviation accidents;
- review of analytical batches and case files as part of the accident investigation process.
The incumbent will support ongoing compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and ABFT accreditation standards and assists with internal and external audits.
The position requires fundamental understanding of chromatographic and immunoassay techniques including LC/MS/MS, LC/QTOF, GC/MS, and ELISA. Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 and ABFT accreditation requirements is strongly encouraged.
