Job Summary

The Data Analytics Engineer is responsible for transforming raw data into reliable insights and metrics ready for analysis and reporting. This role acts as a bridge between data engineering and data analysis by applying SQL, data modeling, and data warehousing techniques. The position focuses on building and maintaining data pipelines and models, documenting data sources, and ensuring data quality, consistency, and accessibility so business users can make informed decisions.

Job Functions Primary Responsibilities
  • Data Transformation:
    Convert raw data into metrics, insights, and reports by building scripts and tools to clean and prepare data for analysis.
  • Data Modeling:
    Design and implement data models that support efficient access and analytical use cases.
  • Data Pipeline Development:
    Build automated, scalable pipelines for data ingestion and processing.
  • Data Documentation and Consolidation:
    Document data models, pipelines, and processes to ensure clarity, maintainability, and consolidation of data sources.
  • Collaboration:

    Partner with data engineers, analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to meet data and reporting needs.
  • Data Quality Assurance:
    Apply software engineering best practices and implement testing and validation to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Business Understanding:
    Translate business requirements into effective data models and analytical outputs.
  • Performance Monitoring:
    Monitor and optimize the performance of data pipelines and models, identifying and resolving issues as needed.
Quality and Stewardship Responsibilities
  • Maintains organizational standards related to assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Identifies and communicates deficiencies in guidelines, procedures, or processes to appropriate leadership.

  • Completes all required training to meet regulatory and organizational compliance standards.
  • Maintains familiarity with emergency and safety procedures applicable to the work environment.

  • Adheres to all organizational policies, including HR, safety, quality, and security standards.
  • Maintains the highest level of data confidentiality and ethical conduct.
Education and Skills Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required; equivalent experience considered.
  • Five or more years of experience in Information Technology or a related field.
  • SQL:
    Strong proficiency in querying and manipulating data.
  • Data Modeling:
    Knowledge of data modeling concepts and tools.
  • Programming

    Languages:

    Experience with Python, Scala, R, or similar languages.
  • Data Visualization:
    Experience using visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Data Warehousing:
    Understanding of data warehousing concepts and technologies.
  • Cloud Platforms:
    Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Software Engineering Practices:
    Experience with version control, CI/CD, and related practices.
  • Communication:
    Strong collaboration and communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving:
    Ability to identify and resolve issues related to data quality, accessibility, and performance.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Primarily office-based work environment.
  • May occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires repetitive hand and wrist movements and extended computer use.
  • Requires close visual acuity for data analysis, documentation, and screen-based work.
  • US $95000 - US $115000 per annum + up to 15% bonus, 401k, hybrid working
